From Movie Screening to Recording Studio!

I hope you’re having a great summer!

Mine has been the most amazing since it kicked off with my short film Wildflower’s special preview screening organized by the New York Women in Film and Television organization. We had a sold out house at the Museum of the Moving Image, people were sitting even on the floor and everyone’s eyes were full of tears. It is hard to put into words how I felt when I finally saw it on silver screen. My heart was pounding so hard that I could hear my own heartbeat…

After the screening, I had the honor of recording Wildflower’s title song “Meie Elu” with gifted musicians Johanna Telander and Una Tone at the legendary Threshold Recording Studios. Johanna is a New York based Finnish composer who arranged this beautiful Estonian folk tune, accompanied me on piano and sang back up vocals. Una is a seasoned Broadway bound Latvian violinist who plays in the film as well. Please click the link below to listen to an excerpt of the song and choose your preferred way of listening to the song in full. Let me know what you think!

Last but not least, if you’re looking for a brand designer and manager, please meet my friend Valev Laube who just moved to New York and is looking to expand his client base. I’ve collaborated with him for years and have only good things to say about him. Wildflower’s website, poster, CD cover and all other marketing materials were designed by him. If you’d like to find out more about Valev’s work, please click here.

Thank you for continually reading my newsletter and enjoy those beautiful sunny summer days!

Warmly,
Kristi
